Breakdown

Stories spread like wildfire,
Dispersed from opposing sides,
Only served to burgeon the ire,
Of two worlds set to collide...

I sat upon the hill,
And witnessed that very war;
Every blow did I feel,
As scar tissue formed,
And my heart grew e'er sore...
From the tension that'd further build

Each word as though a piercing gore;
Before, however, each man's fate was sealed,
An angel came to me...whilst I sat there on that sward.

She cried to me red tears,
For her spirit was in due pain;
Not wanting to breathe life to her fears,
She asked my help in the peace she'd hoped to attain...

She led me to the field of battle,
Delineating the events leading to;
It was clear it'd become
Too much for her to handle,
And with the estranged,
Relations she wanted to start anew,
Express the authenticity of her sorrow,
Tear down the walls erected
By helping her to burst through.

Now, who was that on the other side,
Wanting also to tear that wall down?
A person in whose heart she'd always reside,
Whom in the battle royal also lost her venerable crown...

This person is special
too important,
To go through life without,
And, yes, she, too, was a participant,
In the battle where one the other would flout

However, when all are hurt, there
is none innocent;
Each man's role is tantamount...
It's when your last breath is all but spent,
Arguing you realize what life is truly about.

And, together, they tore down that wall,
Building each other up in the process,
Not allowing for nightfall,
To strip the weary of their deserved rest

Let each man his name scrawl,
Upon umber palimpsest,
For he whom sees his withdrawal,
From an unjust cause...is he none can detest...

Stories turned to embers,
When truth came to light,
Bringing my friends back together,
And ending this silly fight
...

...Mother and daughter reunite ♥

"If you drive someone away, to extract the fullest measure of redemption, you have to go out of your way to get them back; the person is not obligated to meet you halfway, but rather, be open to the idea of coming home if and when you finally do come around."
