For You

Impeccably wrought by Fate,

Called to be special,

God Himself thought to send from halted state,

One, beautiful angel,

Thus you descended the staircase…leading to Heaven’s gate.

It was God’s hand, not celestial debris,

That placed those dimples upon your angelic face,

Contrary to what many believed,

To happen during your conquest of time and space,

Long before we were set to receive,

The bounty that befell us from that mystical place.

You’re still an angel,

Even without wings or halo,

Or any other cachet of the celestial,

For you need neither to fly or glow;

When you move, you defy Earth’s gravitational pull,

Your radiance that of white, glistening snow.

Like any good thing,

You came to me unexpectedly,

The undeserved blessing,

God bequeaths to the unworthy,

It’s unbelievable how much change one can bring,

A divine abrogation of all affliction and misery—

Such is what you’ve become to me…

You transcend that place...thaumaturgic as a spell,

And the fact you're here now has no bearing—

None whatsoever...on your God-given potential;

In this life you'll shatter many a glass ceiling,

As you ascend the moral plane back to a Cielo,

Past the conformities of conventional thinking—

Oh, the places you'll go!

These words I’ve sought to eschew,

For their power is beyond measure,

And, depending on whose lips they pass through,

Are ofttimes subject to censure,

But I unabashedly say that…I love you—

I love you deeply, all the way to my heart's core.

Moreover, now that it’s been said,

Know, too, I love you as a friend,

Both loves are as though inbred;

Neither with beginning nor end,

In light of all things, may we always have amistad,

And room to grow…should, to the latter, we choose to append.

Te amo, una vez mas...
